    Poly covered button clasp

Just posted a polymer cab finished off with a beaded bezzle in SUYW.

Linelle, you had asked for a pic of the button clasp.  It's based on a 2-piece form used for fabric-covered buttons, which I happened to have on hand.  One piece is the dome.  The other piece is the shank which fits up underneath the dome.  I covered just the dome and baked it with clay to match the cab.  Then I used E-6000 to glue the shank in place on the under side of the dome.

hmmmm now that you have mentioned fabric...I am so into the mixed-media thing right now.  I have a design for a vase..it's not my design...I found it at a online quilt store.  I emailed them and asked permission to use the design as long as I give them credit. I was actually expecting a "no" but they said yes!!  Anyway what I want to do is use mostly PC and some fabric...I have fallen in love with all the colorful batiks.  But first I have to test the fabric on the PC.  My first experiment failed as I put liquid sculpey on both sides and the fabric looks too  much like PC so I tried just using the LS on the back of the fabric...looks better but I want to put a finish on it...I have a feeling it will come out looking like PC again.

BTW Jilla your PC covered button rocks!

I don't know how I missed this Jilla. Very ingenious! Tomorrow I'm going to check out The Button Club and try to gain a little insight on what goes on in the button world. A time to look and listen.

Fenian, I'm crazy about batik myself. I want to make a duvet cover out of batik, but need to wait for a sale.

Fenian - Take a look into AnKara Designs - the Mitchell sisters, Anne and Karen, are pioneers and experts on the use of LPC with fabric, and use the technique to make articles of clothing.  I don't remember if they have any tutorials available.  Perhaps something in a back issue of Polymer Cafe.
