About Janine
Janine began jewelry making after a missions trip to Brazil in 2003. During the trip she had been making Salvation bracelets with the children there out of plastic pony beads and leather. After she came home, she decided to try making one from crystals and sterling silver. Once she learned how to string beads, she learned wirewrapping cabochons, lapidary, metal clay, and silversmithing. Her father taught her lapidary, but every thing else she has learned from library books and magazines like Art Jewelry. Janine has enjoyed many arts and crafts through the years: crocheting, knitting, crewel, and decorative painting, but making jewelry has her hooked. "It's so much fun to wear what you create and to see others wearing it too!"says Janine. Inevitably, it has turned into a business and she sells in galleries and home parties. She also has a website, which she has found to be a valuable advertising tool. www.gentlespiritcreations.com
