Delta View: Tidelands Brooch IV

Joan Tenenbaum’s Delta View: Tidelands Brooch IV is made of 18k gold, copper/sterling silver mokume gane, and sterling silver. Inspiration for this piece came from photographs of tidal flats and the many aerial views she has seen while traveling in rural Alaska. 1 3⁄4 x 1 1⁄4 x 3/16 in. (44 x 32 x 5 mm). Photo by Doug Yaple. This appeared in the March 2008 issue of Art Jewelry.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I guess I am just so taken with this kind of look, natural landscape inspiration and multiple metals in one piece.

I can't find my copy of that issue of the magazine (I think I loaned it out-must get it back!)  Did you do an article on the making of this piece?  How did you get that beautiful coloring-kind of an "oil on water" look?

Again I love this piece, hope to see much more of your work.
