Green Circle Pin

Beth Rosengard created Green Circle Pin of 14k and 22k gold. Broom casting, a technique in which molten metal is poured over bound bristles of broom straw that have been soaked in water, was used to create the textured elements of the piece. The fabricated pin includes bezel-set Smithsonite, emerald, and boulder opal. 1 1⁄2 x 1 5⁄8 x 1⁄4 in. (38 x 41 x 6.5 mm). This piece appeared in the May 2008 issue of Art Jewelry.
