Sproutlings

Mary Watson’s Sproutlings is a pin/pendant attached to a removable lake-stone base, which allows the jewelry to double as small-scale sculpture when it’s not being worn. Fabricated with sterling silver, the pieces are set with Morrisonite jasper, coral, and citrine. Cast seedpods also adorn the piece. The pin/pendant is 2 x 3 x 1⁄2 in. (51 x 76 x 13 mm). Photo by Larry Sanders. This piece appeared in the May 2008 issue of Art Jewelry.
