Orthoceras brooch

“The fossil was so interesting, but I had no idea what it may have looked like when it was living,” says Marthe Roberts/Shea of the orthoceras fossil she set at the center of her brooch. Orthoceras brooch is made of fine silver and 14k gold. The fabricated and scribed brooch is 2 1⁄2 x 3⁄4 in. (64 x 19 mm). Photo by Jim Greipp. This piece appeared in the January 2009 issue of Art Jewelry.
