Enamel Flower Drop Earrings

To make her garden-inspired Enamel Flower Drop Earrings, Jan Smith pierced and foldformed copper, then enameled it. The 1⁄2 x 1⁄2-in. “My work explores the vague line between the natural world and the artificial one,” says Jennifer Gierka. “Plastic elements combine with enamel and felt to create pieces that exhibit a strange ambiguous ‘nature.’” Her brooch is made of copper, enamel, felt, and plastic. 4 x 3 x 2 in. Kimberley Morris created Zuni from copper that she textured and heat treated. She says, “A patina is applied, then other color is applied with pencil.
