I made this brooch during extensive experimentation with paints on clay. I was trying to see what types of paint crackled on clay. Even though some of the paint on the surface of the clay didn't crackle, it created a nice pattern.

Summer Sunami

This set was my entry in the ArtBeadSceneBlog"s monthy challenge last August. The inspiration was a Japanese block print of a Sunami Wave. I made the polymer clay shell beads and the wave beads and combined them with other real shell beads, frosted glass beads and tiny coral twigs. It is meant to inspire the hope that perhaps this treasure would be discovered on the shore after the Sunami is over.

Alamo Bracelet and Earrings

In April we took a vacation trip to San Antonio, Texas and saw the Alamo. The beautifully carved limestone , especially when lit at night is what inspired me to make these polymer clay tile beads and some off white ones also. The clay is stamped on both sides and antiqued with acrylic paint before being sealed with an archival spray.

Red Poppies

This necklace started with nickle sized flower beads I made from polymer clay. I decided to use them like buttons as the center of flowers. The flower petals are free motion machine stitched felt and organza. I think it looks like a Holiday Necklace for a very fancy party or something you may find on Project Runway.

This necklace has an antique look but the polymer clay focal bead is slightly modern. I like to combine the new and the old. I love how the pearls hang heavy the focal bead is off to one side. This is one of my first asymmetric designs.

Lavender and Lace

This necklace is a tribute to my "Grammie". The polymer clay beads reminded me of her because of the lavender color, the lacy look of the white and translucent flower cane slices and the rather retro looking twisted designs on the beads. She was a very modern grammie who took me to see the Beattle's movies-"Help" and "Yellow Submarine" in downtown Boston when I was young.

One of a kind "charm bracelet" that has mica shift chatoyant pattern of polymer clay underlay, stamped ink watch, translucent overlay with black, copper and gold marbled bezel, textured - 75 or so hand wrapped, hammered, oxidized copper jump rings, 65 or so hand wrapped dangles of coordinating "charm" tiles of polymer, glass and pearls with a custom hand wrapped toggle clasp.
