Hi Folks,
I continue on with my pattern of "going rogue" in my lapidary work. I haven't cold worked any glass beads in a long time so I have recently been making some as I get ready for the Portland, Oregon Bead Bazaar next weekend. Here's a little about how I got into making handcrafted beach glass ...

Bugs!?!?! Well, maybe exotic scarabs or beetles with shiny shells.... with the metallic sheen maybe they're like organic robot bugs?

Good Mourning Art Jewelers,
My condolences to all of you who are dealing with the recent loss of a loved one. Mourning so often ends up a regular companion in our lives, until the end of our lives, when it gets passed on to those who follow us.
I made a bunch of jet beads for the Beadfest here in Portland last month. ...

Howdy Beaders,
I've been on a bit of a spree around metal minerals recently! I grew up in a rock club in Michigan and there were always crazy bits of high grade metal mineral ores from the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan's Upper Peninsula passed around amongst the rockhounds and we went there once to collect on the mine ...

Good Mourning Art Jewelers,
It's been an active late Spring and Summer since my last post. Earth Day seems so long ago, but my Queen Coal Technology went over well. I haven't been too active in the studio this summer. I went to some big spiritual event each month and have been doing a lot of work for my patroness ...

ELSE (formerly semi-precious like turquoise & lapis, but including
agates & jaspers)! I've ...

Thanks for your comments. We certainly are all a part of creation and we are creation, and we are all creators, so it's a priviledge to share my pieces here that I co-create with the elements of creation! And that dinosaur does have a broken heart, but the fracture line was healed so many millions of years ago with earth glue, that ...

I recently attended a Spirit Dance where for 5 days we did ceremony, prayers, and dance in a circle around a tree that represented "The Tree of Life." One of the things I took away from the dance was the notion that I need to keep dancing around that tree in my everyday life, and what better "Tree of Life" to dance ...

Hi Folks, I finally knocked out
another batch of greenery and just got them all photographed,
photoshopped and listed!
Here is a freeform Australian variscite bead from the same chunk of
rock as the one above, but from the other end and with lots more
matrix. Normally this would be considered very "inferior" ...

Howdy Art Jewelers, my theme for this current cutting jag is
stones that I work in that are GREEN! One of the things I love about
living in Portland, Oregon is that while it's sort of a drab green all
winter, the Spring and Summer bring us an explosion of colors and
greens in every hue. Green is the color of ...
