  • Re: Bead Shows in NY, New England

Thanks Jennifer...that sounds like a good one! But tell me, will there be pearl and gemstone beads as well as glass? Do you have a list of exhibitors? Betsy
  • Bead Shows in NY, New England

Hi, I have toyed with the idea of selling beads and components...first online, and eventually brick and mortar.  I'm starting to get a clue that going to the large bead shows is the best way to start building an inventory by buying wholesale.   Can anyone recommend a really good show in the NY State, New England region? I ...

Thanks, Sure, we'll visit them together and bring them projects from time to time.  Hopefully their chips won't be too fried!

Thanks Kelly, Unfortunately, I have to work full time for now (health insurance, mortgage, kid in college, etc.). I'd love to do this 100% of the time, but can't. Hence the name. Betsy

  • Photos of Some of My Work

I just posted some new photos of some of my pieces I made within the last year on my blog.  I don't know what got into me...I'm usually pretty lazy when it comes to photographing my jewelry. But I decided to use my "old faithful" Nikon Coolpix 800...it needed a workout.  It should become an antique in another 10 ...

Just as a person, exposed to lead paint over time, accumulates the toxicity in his/her body (much faster for children), the same can be said for jewelry. Except that the jewelry with the "tiny ...

  • Re: Where is the line between inspiration and stealing a design?

I know this is an old thread, but a very interesting one at that, so forgive me on coming late to this party! I, too, was "searching my soul" so to speak about emulating a design by an artist whose work I admired. Far from copying her designs outright, I took inspiration from her work and simply wanted to try out the technique and ...

  • Re: Thinking of a necklace what do you think?

Those look good enough to eat! I'd space them about 1/2 inch apart on black or dark brown silk cord with a cluster of lime green briolette pearls between each one...and around 16 or 18 inches long, depending on how many you have left. But that's just me.  Betsy http://halfassedjewelryartist.blogspot.com/
