 I've done Byz with 3/32" rings (5mm is about 3/16).   I "speedweave" Byz by opening and closing rings and after the flip I add 1 open/2 closed, then add another open through the closed. Goes lots faster.   I also wait until I'm done with the chain to pick up the rings. It's just faster ...

Great points. I like the idea of practicing with an older fire extinguisher. The money you "waste" by doing that may just save your life.
