• Re: lower case alphabet stamps

Ouch.  I had no idea.  From that order form, it looked like lowercase was a standard item.   Sorry, that is the only place I (thought) I knew of.   -- Jim

Harper Manufacturing does lower case letters. Here is a link to their catalog. On page 8, in bullet 'c', it says to "Indicate if you want capitals, lower case letters, and what position you want the puctuation marks." -- Jim
Wireywoman, where do you get Devcon 5 minute epoxy?
I haven't looked in a month or two, but I used to be able to get this at Home Depot in the adhesives section (usually in the paint isle, not far from caulk.  Ask if you can't find their glue section). -- Jim

  • Re: Advice on Bezel setting this piece of Sea glass?

Thanks for that info on the alundum stone Lu Ann. I hadn't heard of it before.  I'm going to have to check one out some time.  Good point about the sanding too. Setting a stone should always be one of the last steps.  In my training we actually polished the whole piece, applied any patina, then cleaned it all up.  ...

  • Re: anyone else into resin?

Thanks for the detailed response.  I have some Epoxy 330 sitting around that I wanted to try some chip inlay with.  It sounds like it should work pretty much like Devcon.  I saw a Resin kit on RioGrande.com that ran almost $80. There wasn't enough information in the description to tell me if that would do work similar ...

  • Re: drilling holes in beach stones to use for beads

That stone in the picture is mostly under water.  I have a feeling he raised it up a little to give you a better picture (that water is pretty cloudy too).  You want the stone to be covered with water as you drill.  Your diamond bit can go into the water without any issues, but you don't want to get your handpiece in the ...

  • Re: Advice on Bezel setting this piece of Sea glass?

Sanding won't work harden the metal, unless you a pressing so hard with the sandpaper that the metal is flexing back and forth, which isn't likely. As for bezel setting, a traditional bezel has the metal formed up over the edge of a stone (or other object) far enough to hold it in place.  To do that, you need the edge of the stone to ...
