Friday Highlights from the Subscriber Gallery: Round 2, Jill's choice

Time flies! I'm up again to choose three favorite posts from our online Subscriber Gallery. I'm going for a theme here this week that I like to call, Keep on a-Rockin' it (work that incorporates some kind of stone in its design).

From the Wire/chain mail gallery: "Basia Mille" by Aden Angier. This necklace shows off a polished drop chalcedony, and a pair of faceted blue topaz stones. Simple and elegant.

From the Metal Clay gallery: Patrik Kusek's wrapped jasper pendants. Patrik is firing the metal clay with the stones in place!

From the Metals gallery: A lovely brooch by Monika Roos. The use of mixed metals in cool and warm colors provide a striking complement to the lapis focal stone.

How frustrating to try to recreate that from scratch! It is a cool project though, isn't it? :)

The article states that he used a Dunlop stainless steel pick, standard size, and thin. So my guess would be to go with the standard size, 0.20 thickness. If it's any help, the Fender was a #351. So if the Dunlop matches that, you're good to go.

As for the jump rings, you'll need:

66 brass 20-gauge (0.8mm) 3mm inside diameter
11 brass 18-gauge (1.0mm) 4mm inside diameter
11 anodized-aluminum 18-gauge (1.0mm) 4mm inside diameter
