• Garnet Silver Weave ring

HI everybody! I made a new ring last night for my sister as a Graduation present. She had bought this lab-grown garnet about a year ago, as she wanted me to make a ring for her. I put it off, as I wanted to figure out a different setting than what my Amethyst Weave ring had. Although at first glance...

Lin why don't you mix up a few small batches and bake some small tiles. Bring them over to your neighbor and ask for her input. Just don't forget how you mixed each one...(write it down )
I want a saturated jewel tone.
Can you define that a bit more Lin? I tell you what I have just tried using on one of my pieces and I LOVE them! Watercolor pencils! You can get the most fantastic colors....and not as messy as paints....you just apply and use a...

  • Re: Making garnet color

From glass attic: russets, wines, bricks and maroons can be made from mixing reds and greens. Isn't garnet close to one of these colors? Jeez I have never had to really mix colors to get a specific one....I just go with trial and error but I guess it is good to know how to mix colors properly as...

  • SPICY EARRINGS - SWIRLY SHAPES

Normally I always end up monochromatic. But lately I´v pushed my self into combining more colors. OK, I know this is nothing dramatic, Just two colors. But I always find it hard to come up with a vibrant, lucious result that so many are masters of here at the forum. First a pendant that was a commission...

  • Winged Night - necklace like an ode to an owl ;)

Owls are undoubtedly one of the most mysterious species of birds. When I lived in a house surrounded by old trees I used to see whole owl families sitting on branches close to my window. I could admire their wise, amber eyes and beautifully coloured feathers. Owls are also a charming motif present more...

  • MOKSHA - deep red pendant. Updated with pink earrings and a question...

I´m still moved by the copy cat debate last week. I feel sorry for Magdalena, but in the end I don´t think it will effect her business in any way. She is so unique and has developed such skill. But the debate has put a thought in me about where that fine line goes - between inspiration and copying. So...

  • WHEEL OF DHARMA - intricate pendant

It´s so pleasing when an idea you been striving with turn out just as you wanted. This is the case with my Wheel of Dharma-pendant. It took a lot of time to plan how to make it and even more to wrap it. Wheel of Dharma is the symbol of how Buddha set his teachings on the roll over the world. The pendant...
