  • My Initial Foray into a new wire genre

This is my initial foray into this genre of wire work. Thanks go out to artist Felix, a.k.a. Andrew for the pointers on where to begin in terms of construction. Thanks for being generous with your time and advice! I used copper for my initial experiment because I didn't want to be inhibited by the...

  • Re: Northwest Florida Panhandle

Delia, as I said in another post, I currently hail from far northern CA. However, I grew up between Ensley and Cantonment - near Nine Mile Rd.. Spent my summers at Ft.Pickens and the beach. I miss running in the woods near there, but nowadays, I guess everyone does, because they are no longer there LOL...
  • More netted stones

I'm still working with the netted stone necklaces. They're so much fun! I used russian amazonite this time around with gold fill wire. I love the look of it. I used a solitary blue green swarovski to add a touch of sparkle. Have a peek ... And a second view showing more detail: The more I practice...

  • Misc works

Just a few recent works to share; First, some matching earrings for my seahorse pendant, a little unexpected gift for the lady who purchased the necklace. Have you ever done something silly, like put your focal stone in backwards? Well, I have ... and here's a fine example. lol At least the swarovski's...

  • Equine Fever

Another horse pendant ... um... or unicorn. The ear could use a little improvement, but I'm okay with it if it looks a little more like a horn this time. The last one did well at the Egyptian Event Art Auction, so I'm hoping this one will find a home at my upcoming show in September. I made the...

  • Re: Turquoise Silver Weave Ring

Beautiful Melissa! love the woven band ... it gives it that extra 'something'. :) I would offer one teeny tiny suggestion on the weave to help keep it in place. Before you go from one side to the next, coil it around the shank wire a full turn, then take it to the other side / opposing shank...

  • A new take on needle lace: Caged Pendant

Edit Note: Tags edited I'm really enjoying working with this needle lace technique. Here's my latest piece using the needle lace as a cage setting for a stone. I am considering putting a little LOS on it but haven't gotten around to it just yet. Let me know what you think!

  • Finally! A functional piece... Seahorse. Image heavy

This seahorse was inspired by Magdalena some time ago. I had so many ideas for it I just couldn't decide what to do with it ... so I put it aside and pulled it out occasionally to fondle it and imagine it's potential. Now, I have LOADS of great ideas, some of them much more grand than this, lol...

  • Green Pagoda

I have really fallen for these pendants. I love the airy and intricate look of them. I decided to make another in more earthy colors using swarovski's and green garnet. I had much better control of my loops this time. I used a knitting needle as a mandrel for keeping them as close to the same size...

  • Flowering Pagoda pendant

After toying with the netting setting for last week I decided to try something a little different with the netting. Rather than using a solid form to build the net on, I tried some open netting. Now this little piece is my only experiment thus far with this, so the flaws are apparent - at least to me...
