    Hi Mardel, Thank you for posting on this thread. I am quite new to metal clay in general so I can't say for sure if the pieces were just oxidized but to me they looked burned, they had a 1.5mm coating that had the consistency of carbon and that looked completely black, to "save" my pieces...

    It took a lot of work to make my pieces shiny again after they came out with a dark brown patina. What finally worked? I soaked my shot in flat Coke for several hours and then rinsed it well. I don't know if that made a difference but it took all the shine off the shot, so I'm sure it removed...

  • Ultralite Kiln

    Hi Has anyone tried the Ultralite kiln? Is it a good option for a cheaper kiln? What sort of clay and techniques can you use with it. Thank you Atarah

  • Uses for kilns?

    I was just reading on here that it might be possible for me to use my glass kiln to do some enamelling, I'm really excited about this possibility and wondered if there are any other things that I might be able to do with it? All I have known of so far is anneal lampwork and fuse glass.
