  • Newbie from PR

Greetings from Puerto Rico! I am new, new, new to jewelry making and design. I'm working with wire and sea glass that I collect from beaches here and in the Caribbean. The glass I've been collecting for years, the jewelry is new. I'm wire wrapping as well as drilling the glass. I'll probably...

  • Re: New Sea Glass Jewelry Settings

Thanks Pippi! I actually did try and do some on my own with a micro torch but for the "real" jewelry, you really need a pro torch like acetylene, etc... I took private lessons with a master goldsmith in my area which was good as she catered the lessons to my exact needs. Sea glass is TOUGH...

  • New Sea Glass Jewelry Settings

Rare End Of Day Sea Glass Necklace - Traditional Bezel Setting One of our newest works! I just started doing smithing work a little over 6 months ago and have found sea glass a real challenge to set. • Hi everyone

I live in Devon in the UK close to the sea and I love reticulating silver. Having started metalsmithing just over a year ago it's taken me some time to produce pieces that I'm pleased with, but I'm getting there. I usually try to set the pieces with found sea glass which I pick up on my local...

  • Broken china ear cuffs

When I break china for my jewelry, I always seem to have a couple of small pieces that don't match up for earrings and I never knew what to do with them. So I decided to try to make some ear cuffs. My first attempt is this one made with Limoge china. The china piece hangs down almost like it would...

  • Devon and Cornwall, UK

Hi all, Finally I've found a magazine that does more than nod at metalsmithing! I started off as a beader, but quickly realised that it wasn't giving me the fulfilment that I was looking for. I looked into learning some aspects of silversmithing locally and by the end of the first session I was...
  • Look what the tide brought in!

I am so thankful for all the great feedback I received with my last posting. I've created some new designs with both sea glass and vintage (broken!) jewelry and thought I'd throw them up and listen for comments (and, for now anyway, they can also be viewed on my eBay site as well.).... thanks...
